Kim Sykes is a resident of Yarra and has extensive clinical, policy, management and governance experience within the health system.
She is currently manager of education for the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (Vic Branch) and is Vice President of the Victorian Council of Social Services.
Kim’s previous positions have included: Chief Executive Officer for Bendigo Community Health Services; Executive Director of Nursing for Southern Health (now Monash Health) and concurrent program and site management roles; Director of Service and Workforce Planning, Department of Health and Human Services and Director of Nurse Policy/Chief Nurse for Victoria.
She has been a director of FoodShare Bendigo and the (then) Nurses Board of Victoria, sat on course advisory committees for Latrobe, Deakin and Monash universities, been appointed to two Ministerial Advisory Committees on Nursing in addition to supporting Taskforces, including on Violence in Nursing and the Preparation of mental health nurses.
Kim holds a Masters of Business Administration, psychiatric nursing qualifications and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
