Ambulance Stats in Herald Sun

YDHF is concerned about the stats concerning ambulance call outs and overdose events in Yarra reported in the Herald/Sun and by MRAC.

Each one of those stats refers to a person who is someones son/daughter/someone’s loved one.

We want to know more about what they relate to/what they mean and what might be done to prevent them that complements and supplements the overdose prevention work being done at the MSIR The data was for all of Yarra, including Fitzroy, Collingwood and Richmond.

We are seeking information from Turning Point and Burnet Institute and will provide information to the Yarra community at the next community forum on Monday 2 March.

We remain committed to evidence informed actions to reduce harms to the community, including people who use drugs..
