LIVED (AND LIVING) EXPERIENCE OF INJECTING DRUG USE

NOMINEES TO THE YARRA DRUG AND HEALTH FORUM EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The YDHF Executive Committee is seeking the participation of 2 people with lived (or living) experience of injecting drug use in the City of Yarra (Collingwood, Richmond, Fitzroy) on the Committee as a support to planning and leadership in relation to the work of the YDHF in general, and the following strategic priority in particular:

Include community members and people with lived (and living) experience of injecting drug use in the design and implementation of community action to address the impact of drug activity in Yarra

YDHF Strategy 2020-21

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Bring the lived, and living, experience of injecting drug use to relevant discussions at the Executive Committee 
• Participate in monthly Executive Committee meetings held on the second Tuesday of every month from 4:00pm online (by Zoom) (2 hours per meeting)
• Participate in Annual General meeting (2 hours)
• Participate in planning and design of activities to progress YDHF strategic priorities (one day per year)

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

• Current affiliation or engagement with service user participation /peak bodies representing the interests of people who use drugs
• Personal experience of injecting drug use – street based and/or in Medically Supervised Injecting Room in City of Yarra 
• Interest and enthusiasm to contribute to the achievement of the aims of the YDHF
• Availability to participate in monthly Executive Group meetings online and, on occasions, in person
• Ability to work effectively and collaborate with others
• Computer / internet access and literacy in use of email, zoom

REMUNERATION

A nominal fee of $50 an hour/minimum 2 hour session is available
