Saade Melki Bio

I grew up in Melbourne and had a great education eventually completing a Bachelor of science and a Bachelor of biotechnology and cell biology at Latrobe. I went on to do some further research at RMIT school of global studies social science and planning.
It wasn’t easy to get there though. I struggled through 17 years of heroin addiction after the death of my father.
I was then challenged with late-stage cancer that was a result of medical negligence by the prison system.
I think that through my lived experience, I am able to enrich the already wise Yarra Drug and Health Forum with my unique, selfless and compassionate perspective when it concerns the world of inmates and drug users and their everyday struggles.
